More about YLSC

  • • In high school

    • Looking to improve their academic futures

    • Interested in civic engagement & leadership, career exploration, college tours, arts, or podcasting

  • The Youth Leadership Service Corps (YLSC) is a program that was created to help teens develop their leadership, communication, problem-solving, social and life skills through healthy, growth-fostering relationships and community bonds. During the school year, you will explore college and career opportunities, as well as new cultural and outdoor experiences. You will engage in educational enrichment, job readiness and financial literacy, the arts and both community service and civic engagement activities.

You will learn how to build and maintain a safe and productive community for all and what it means to have power, as well as how to use that power responsibly. Our goal after this school year is that you have a greater understanding of opportunities available to you, have developed empathy, curiosity and a habit of learning as well as tools to know yourself better and to achieve personal goals through training, further education, and/or employment. You will know more about your community and city, and will be able to continue to serve them in dynamic and interesting ways.
