MissionSAFE works primarily with highly at-risk youth and young adults who are not achieving their full potential.
By "at-risk"-MissionSAFE means that a youth or young adult faces multiple obstacles that may prevent them from
fully developing their many talents, dreams and possibilities. To assist them in overcoming those obstacles and
developing deep, successful lives, MissionSAFE uses a relational/trauma sensitive model and provides concrete
programming that allows youth to discover and develop their talents, confidence and skills. These programs include:
Youth Leadership Service Corps (YLSC)
MissionSAFE's signature program, YLSC provides out-of-school
time programming for youth ages 14 - 21 focusing on leadership development, communication, problem-solving,
violence prevention, community service, civic engagement, college and career exploration, job readiness
training with strong academic support and including the Health Corps, STARR Education Project and Arts-in-Action.

Youth/Parent & School Outreach

reach out to parents and youth in their homes, on the streets, and in the schools to gain and maintain a
better sense of youths' lives in their community context and to help transform their academic and life experience.
Parents on a Mission
Staff reach out to parents of MissionSAFE youth to help them learn about and support
the program and explore ways in which to support each other and promote positive change in their lives.
Counseling: Individual and Workshops
MissionSAFE recognizes the importance of individual and group
counseling work as a means of communication that allows youth to deal with difficult issues in their lives.
